Special convocation for conferment of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics upon H.E Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of IDB, Jeddah was conferred by Y.A.B. Dato' Sri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Minister of Education as well as President of IIUM. This special convocation was held on 21 October 1999.

The closing ceremony of Taekwondo Championship was organized by Taekwondo Club in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Event location: Sports Complex, IIUM.

The visit was entertained by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid A. Abu Sulayman. The photos are significant in capturing the development of the IIUM Gombak campus.

The seminar was held on 6-9 May 1998 and the closing ceremony was conducted by YBhg. Dr. Sidek bin Baba, Deputy Rector of IIUM.

The 'Safety Campaign which was organised by IIUM Caring Club in collaboration with fire department was held on 14 May 1997 at the football field, IIUM Campus, Petaling Jaya.
