Nightscape plays an important role in enhancing the quality of environment especially for urban settings such as the city squares. Declining awareness and negative perceptions may lead to a series ground of crimes, fear and lack of sense of place. The aim of the study is to redefine urban nightscape in realizing a sustainable green and energy-effic

Light wavelengths and intensities affect the cortisol (stress hormone) levels in fish. Thus, this study aims to determine the optimum light wavelength and intensity to re-duce stress of juvenile sutchi catfish, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. The sutchi cat-fish juveniles (35 days post hatching) were reared for 28 days (20 individuals/30 L) under five

This paper aims to identify the reasons used by taxpayers to become a compliant taxpayer, and whether these reasons are affected by demographic factors. Five reasons were used - fairness on the distribution of tax burden, fairness of the government in utilising government revenue, peer influence, sanctions and non-tax macro factors. Data was collec

This study report the effects of light intensity on the optimum light wavelength and intensity on the survival rate, specific growth rate, and production index of sutchi catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, Sauvage, 1878) juveniles. The sutchi catfish juveniles (69 days old) with average initial body length of 5.14 cm and body weight of 1.11 g wer

The main objective of this study is to investigate whether exports, imports, exchange rates, and gross domestic investment are important in determining economic growth in Cameroon. The Johansen tests of co-integration suggest the presence of a long-run relationship among the variables and all the long-run coefficients have the expected signs and si

Elevated blood pressure and elevated low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Lowering both should reduce the risk of cardiovascular events substantially. In a trial with 2-by-2 factorial design, we randomly assigned 12,705 participants at intermediate risk who did not have cardiovascular disease to ros

Positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb), which comprises cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) kinase and cyclin T subunits, is an essential kinase complex in human cells. Phosphorylation of the negative elongation factors by P-TEFb is required for productive elongation of transcription of protein-coding genes by RNA polymerase II (pol II).

This paper presents microfluidic concentration gradient generator having tree-like structures with implementation of laminar flow concept and small-scale mixing through diffusion inside its microchannel. The microchannels aim for constant flow rate at each outlet and is achieved by optimizing the channel lengths. The generation of concentration gra

The study of the creation of a technical language within an existing natural language reveals to us both the internal and external dynamics of this complex phenomenon. The history of Arabic lexical definitions of different disciplines in the historical Islamic civilization provides us with a wealth of information on how these processes take place a

Preliminary studies have highlighted on the importance of the street as public space that provide setting for activities and amenities allowing people to do their activities. However, roles of urban street as public space have weakened due to rapid growth development. It is more focused on the transportation compared to the people, making people fe
