Given that the co-existence of multimedia applications will be a norm in the future wireless systems, their quality of service (QoS) requirements need to be guaranteed. This has imposed new challenges in the design of packet scheduling algorithms in these systems. To address those challenges, a new packet scheduling algorithm for real time (RT) tra

Purpose: This study aims to explore access to, and the effectiveness of NGOs Sadaqah in alleviating situational poverty experienced by higher education students during COVID-19 lockdowns in Malaysia. Sadaqah is considered instrumental to alleviating the social and intellectual challenges of society, but its efficacy in addressing emergencies and ma

Purpose: Islamic, as well as modern literature, on the issue of halal/haram (permissible and prohibited), primarily circulates around the product’s ingredient aspect, categorizing a particular object specifically into one of the mentioned dichotomist heads. On contrary to the usual individualistic consumer/product-centric approach, this paper dis

Abstract The upsurge in the morbidity and mortality rate among the bottom 40 categories in Southeast Asia has been attributed to socio-economic inequalities. The potentials of social assistance in alleviating ill-health challenges have been gaining attention in recent times. The underlying rationale is that improving the health and general well-bei

Nowadays computer simulation plays a significant role in analyzing the radar signals. The research group at the Radar and Communication Systems (RCS) has developed a maritime radar, called INDERA, that works using the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology. In line with the enhancement of the radar system we have alsodeveloped a soft

The use of Hybrid ARQ in wireless networks is to provide fast re-transmits and to lower the overall error rate. The performance of HARQ schemes is a well studied field, with many results to draw from in the literature. An area that is less researched is what impact Hybrid ARQ has on LTE systems. We are, specifically, interested in looking at the sy

Real estate remains one of the most significant properties for personal use and investment purposes. Individual institutions and corporate bodies operate on real estate properties. In recent times, there have been several concerns among zakatable individuals and organizations on the shariah criteria for identifying zakatable real estate properties

Background: Uncorrected refractive error, including astigmatism remains the major cause of preventable blindness worldwide. The outbreak and spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have greatly impacted education systems worldwide. This study investigated the refractive changes and prevalence of astigmatism in 7-year-old school c

The task of simulation is often complicated for which many naive users often seek for relatively easier solutions. In many cases, simulations are done without any visual output which makes them non-attractive. In this demo, we present ViSim; a new simulation demonstration tool that has a user-friendly graphical interface. ViSim could be useful for

Scientific activities are done with the assumption that the natural world is ordered through systematic laws that can be discovered by the human mind. Nature can be known in certainty apart from the perspective of the observer, and only then can science proceed. This dualistic vision of nature is widely accepted by the Western philosophy of science
