Malaysia is considered to be one of the most vibrant and creative Muslim countries in the world when it comes to promoting Islamic modernity. Its approach to good governance, especially in Islamic banking and finance, along with its successful administration of Islamic affairs and public welfare in general, is undeniable. However, its attention to

Relying has in use for decades to tackle some of the challenges of wireless communication such as extending transmitting distance, transmitting over rough terrains. Diversity achieved through relaying is also a means to combat the random behavior of fading channels. In this work, effect of time and power allocation on relay performance is studied.

Type II Diabetes Mellitus is one of the silent killer diseases worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, 347 million people are suffering from diabetes throughout the world. To overcome the sharp rise in the disease, various diagnostic or prediction models were developed through various techniques such as artificial intelligence, class

Simple, user-friendly, economical and rapid sensing devices are in urgent demand for diagnostics purposes especially in resource-limited countries. Diagnostics devices fabricated from patterning paper into hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions called paper-based microfluidic analytical devices (μPADs) have been introduced. In this work, straight lin

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease. In the knee OA, several joint changes were observed and among these include articular cartilage (AC) degeneration, and subchondral bone (Sb) remodeling. Despite of extensive experimental and clinical studies, the role of bone remodeling in the two sub-regions of Sb, i.e. the subchondral bone plat

Introduction: The pro-inflammatory cytokine (interleukin-6 (IL-6)) and the anti-inflammatory cytokine (interleukin-10 (IL-10)), are believed to play a key role in the pathophysiology of the chronic pain. Recent research highlights the potential role of these cytokines in modulating the analgesic effect of opioid in long-term users which may contrib

Background: Reviews have shown that depression is a major problem among type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. However, there is limited evidence for specific stressors to be associated with stress among T2D patients. Objectives: This study aimed to identify the main stressors among the T2DM and to investigate the perceptions of the patients tow

—This paper presents flexible microstrip antenna designs that can be used for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) operating at a frequency of 5.9 GHz. Designing the flexible antennas for ITS provides alternative to automotive industry to place the antennas at various shapes and conditions. Two antenna arrangements are introduced to produce tw

Particulate matter (PM) is one of the primary pollutants found in the indoor environment. It can cause deterioration of the indoor air quality (IAQ) and is often linked with adverse health effects especially towards susceptible subgroup of the population like children. School children are exposed to PM inside the classroom, as this indoor PM may or

Maintaining current municipal solid waste management (MSWM) for the next ten years would not be efficient anymore as it has brought many environmental issues such as air pollution. This project has proposed Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based prediction algorithm that can forecast Solid Waste Generation (SWG) based on household size factor. Kulli
