The opening ceremony of International Conference on Value and Attitude in Science and Technology (VAST '96) was conducted by by Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. This event was organised by Islamic Development Bank and IIUM, in cooperation with Akademi Sains Islam Malaysia. Date of conference: 3-9 September
