Grand final 2nd ALSA Law Debate, Yang Arif Dato' Paduka Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah's Challenge Trophy was organised by ALSA Malaysia National committee and was held at moot court IIUM on 16 May 1997 at IIUM Petaling Jaya campus.
The launching of Anti-drugs Campaign Program (PEKA 97') was officiated by Datuk Hj Idris Hj Ibrahim, Timbalan Yang Dipertua PEMADAM Kebangasaan on 3rd of May 1997 at Al-Malik Faisal Hall, IIUM Main Campus, Petaling Jaya.
Monthly forum on "Role of Religion in the Post Modern World". The panelists were Dr. John Esposito and Dr. Louay M. Safi, and Dr. Rashid Moten as the moderator. This forum was held at Al-Malik Faisal Hall, IIUM Petaling Jaya Campus.
Among the activities during the Taaruf Week include Special Session with Rector, Matriculation Center Ta'aruf week session 95/96 and dinner of new pre-medical students with the Rector.
